Progeny Trauma Therapy and Mentoring
Trauma Therapy
For ages 13 to 25
Our passion is to support young people who have walked through difficult experiences. This may include healing from the impact of wounding such as: bullying, rejection, abandonment, ridicule, emotional, physical, or sexual abuse, as well as cruelty, terror and neglect, whether encountered in early childhood or as a teen/young adult. Such difficult experiences often increase anxiety and damage self-worth (shame) leading to panic, withdrawal/isolation and corrupted internalised beliefs. Beliefs that whisper, 'I am unseen, unsafe, unworthy, and unlovable'. We help young people to feel safe again, to restore their worth and find self-acceptance and freedom. We also have experience in navigating sensitive areas such as PTSD, self-harm, suicidal ideation, dissociation, pornography and all kinds of maladaptive coping responses.

Mentoring
For ages 13 to 25
We stand with our young people as they move through adolescence and out into adulthood. Mentors are trained in mentoring and engage with young people long term to help:

Value to be Restored,
Identity to be Secured
and Purpose to be Explored.
Mentors are volunteers from local churches and we provide a mentoring contract to ensure clear guidelines and expectations between the mentor and mentee. Mentees under the age of 18 will require a parent or guardian to sign the mentoring contract. All of our team are Access NI checked.

Typically mentoring takes place once or twice a month in an informal setting (e.g. a coffee shop) for a minimum of 6 months - and there is flexibility for the mentor and mentee to agree the location and duration of each session.

Mentoring works really well alongside therapy. Mentoring is offered free of charge.
